ABOUT ME

Why Cinematography?

I am a high school student at Burr and Burton Academy in Manchester, VT. This is my first time taking a cinematography class. I wanted to take this class because it seemed like using a camera would be a good thing to know how to do. I also needed a technology credit to graduate. I am very excited to learn more about cameras, editing, and to take a class with Muench! This class will be a lot of fun!

My Personal
Life
Hobbies

I have been riding horses since before I could walk. I have always had a very special connection with them. Since I was about eight, I have been riding all year long and competing in the spring, summer, and fall. Currently, I have a horse that is a rescue from Hurricane Katrina named Jack. He has been a huge, huge addition to my life. We have a bond that I have never had with another horse. I got him five years ago and I plan to bring him to college with me next year wherever I decide to go.

This past summer we start competing at higher level competitions and did extremely well. We won champion multiple times and first and second places at almost every show. Since the upcoming summer may be my last opportunity to do a large amount of showing, we plan to travel to Wayne, Illinois, for the Nation Dressage Pony Club. I will be competing against other young riders between the ages on 17-21 from all over the country. As you can probably see, I spend an very large amount of time with my horse whether it is training, showing, or just spending time with him. I plan to use my horse at some point in this semester to make a film.

Favorite Travel Experiences

Iceland

Two summers ago, I traveled to Iceland with my boyfriend and his family. It was truly amazing vacation. We did a lot of hiking, swimming, visiting waterfalls, and of course horseback riding. We spent time in Selfoss and Reykjavik. I loved this vacation. Here are a few pictures from this vacation.

March For Our Lives

Another really amazing experience I had was being able to go to the March For Our Lives in Washington, DC. Students were given the opportunity to go for free through alumni donation. Our whole trip was paid for and it was truly amazing that two buses were about to go down just from Burr and Burton. I loved ever moment of it even though many of us ended up sitting on the ground and getting sun burnt because we were standing in the sun all day long. May of my friends and I were interviewed and photographed. There were quotes/pictures from the march on Refinery29 and the Guardian. I am so happy that I was able to go to this event. My mom even saw my friends and I on CBS News. Here are a few photos.

Job positions

I work two to three days a week at a general store in Arlington, VT, five minutes from my house. Have been working there since May of 2017. I love everything there because I have great co-workers that are always supportive of me and my personal life. Many of the local customers are really nice too, but during the tourist season in Vermont, it can be very annoying to deal with customers.

I also work two days a week during the summer and whenever I can during the school year as a Veterinary Technician for my horse's veterinary. This is an invaluable experience for me because I want to eventually go to Veterinary School after I complete my Animal Science undergraduate degree.
